On the Performer range 4 sizes of masts are available:

78 cm (negative rake) for foil/downwind surfing
85 cm (neutral rake) for a versatile practice
97 cm (positive rake) for freerace practice
107 cm (positive rake) for a race practice

They are adaptable to all AFS fuselages (except SILK).

How can I be sure I'm ordering the right size?

Depending on your size/practice, you’ll find different information on the sheets presenting our ranges directly. If you have the slightest doubt, a team of enthusiasts and practitioners is at your disposal via the website chat (blue logo) at the bottom of your screen.

Where are we located?

The premises are located in Brittany, more precisely in Pencran in Finistère. We are located Espace Joseph Rolland – 29800 PENCRAN.

Where are the products made?

All AFS foils are manufactured in our company in Pencran, France. All AFS Advanced boards are also manufactured here. Some of our boards are made in Tunisia by Terminatech, as are our covers. Unfortunately, we haven’t yet succeeded in making this bet, but our wings are now manufactured in China, although all R&D is carried out in-house.

How long does delivery take?

Unless otherwise indicated, all materials shown are in stock. Delivery takes place within 48 hours of the order being placed.

How is my order shipped?

All our products are packed in reinforced cardboard boxes. We ship all over the world, with occasional shifts between private distribution, boat and plane… The whole unit is protected with various types of foam.

What should I do if I have received a faulty order?

If the delivery has been accepted, simply create a ticket on afs-foiling.fr/demande-sav/. If you have not yet received the order, feel free to unpack the parcel in front of the carrier. In the event of the slightest impact, you can refuse the parcel – no financial charge will be applied. We have insurance for that. A new parcel will then be sent to you.

I have AFS equipment and would like it back. Are you making takeover bids?

Yes, that’s right. All you have to do is apply at: afs-foiling.fr/reprise-materiel/

Where can I see/test the equipment?

You can contact our reseller network or our ambassadors. We also organize AFS Days, where you can test all AFS equipment.

Depending on the size of the mast, a rake is applied to boost your performance

Features

Depending on the size of the mast, a rake is applied to boost your performance. On the 78 cm, a negative rake of 1° is applied. This rake allows you to raise the nose of the board slightly. This brings a stronger support on the front foot in flight and therefore more dynamism (downwind program, surf foil). The 85 cm mast is neutral and therefore versatile for foiling. The 97 and 107 cm masts have a positive rake to move the center of gravity back for a freerace, race program.

The Performer mast benefits from a variable rope. This last one is widened at the level of plate allowing to increase the rigidity and thus the support at takeoff. The submerged part of the mast has a lower chord which reduces drag and increases maneuverability.

The Performer masts are between 14 mm and 15 mm thick. This thin thickness increases your glide tenfold. By way of comparison, an aluminum mast with equivalent rigidity is approximately 19 mm thick and weighs twice as much.
This makes for a lively, slippery, and playful foil.

Carbon HM or UHM

All the know-how of AFS: quality & performance. Performer masts, manufactured in high modulus or ultra-high modulus pre-preg carbon in France, have been designed to transcend your foiling experience with a significant improvement in glide and performance to suit your practice. The use of high modulus carbon allows to gain in rigidity (bending and torsion) while decreasing the thickness of the mast and thus the drag to optimize the glide.

Mast/fuselage

The conical carbon monolithic fitting at the lower end of the mast allows a tight assembly with the fuselage without play. A set of three screws lock the whole thing together for maximum rigidity.

Lightweight and maintenance free

The full carbon construction brings stiffness and lightness to the foil. In the same way, you will not be bothered with marine aggressions such as corrosion that could weaken it.
